Commerce City was incorporated in 1962, bringing together the communities of Adams Heights, Derby, Dupont, Irondale and Rose Hill. With a population of nearly 46,000 people, Commerce City is a growing community expanding over more than 30 square miles. Its proximity to Denver International Airport and an established industrial area contribute to the area's excellent business environment. Commerce City also has some of Colorado's greatest natural resources, including the Rocky Mountain National Wildlife Refuge, Barr Lake State Park, the Prairie Gateway area, and numerous trails and open spaces.
