Arvada is located just six miles northwest of downtown Denver, and was incorporated in 1904. Interstate highways provide easy access to Denver, the mountains and Boulder. With a population of over 101,000, Arvada is a medium sized community of over 34 square miles. Housing choices in Arvada are as diverse as the area, with homes built in the 19th century to new, modern homes. Most of Arvada is located in the Jefferson County school district, with small portions of it in the Adams County district. Arvada is home to the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. Historic Olde Town Arvada is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and offers many venues including eclectic shopping, dining and entertainment.
