Weld County

Weld County covers almost 4,000 square miles in north central Colorado. It is bordered on the north by Wyoming and Nebraska and on the south by the Denver metropolitan area. It is the third largest county in Colorado with nearly 220,000 residents. Weld County has a variety of small to medium sized towns. Greeley is the county seat and largest community, with almost half of the county’s population. Weld County is home to 19 incorporated communities. Located within a 60-mile radius of Greeley are five major universities.

The climate is dry and generally mild with warm summers and mild winters. Elevations in the county range from 4,400 to 5,000 feet. Weld County’s economy is rooted in agri-industry and food processing. The county ranks as the third leading agricultural area in the United States. Weld County is Colorado's leading producer of cattle, grain and sugar beets, and is the second leading region in Colorado in the production of oil and gas. Abundant natural resources, including water, add to the desirability of the County.

Weld County has an excellent, affordable, regional labor pool; well developed commercial/industrial sites with ready access; and a local business climate which is conducive to growth.
